Quick! Change the subject!

Um, yeah. So anyway. (avoiding the subject of my blog absence)

Lawyer

I've found myself in a wonderful place of busy-ness. The kind of busy that at the end of the day, you too, want to just curl up next to your 4 year old at 8:30 to go to bed and blissfully dream. I thrive on being busy....I have my work busy-ness and my downtime business. In my downtime, I sew, knit, read, learn (always learning), watch documentaries, cook, play, take pics of the randomness around me, try something new (I've been embroidering!) and live in the moment with my boys.

"The busy" has required my absence here on my little blog but I hope to be back at it after the weekend.

But something to share....hmmm. Oh yes, I have another half-a** project that still needs completion after a year. I love it and have yet to wear it due to incompletion. I so would have gotten an "I" on my report card for this.

Dress

It's a cute, mod-looking dress that I sewed last year. The ONLY thing that I lack is sewing the hem. You can see the random strings and the lining showing but once I hem it up (and iron, blech), it will be ready for a night on the town. Isn't the blue so lovely? It reminds me of peacocks and I have an infatuation with peacocks. And the shoes! Aren't they ridiculous? I love them so!

The Quilt that ALMOST is...

Yeah, that's right. I have "completion" issues (surprise, surprise). I LOVE getting started on things and then the wind in my metaphorical sails tend to fizzle out and I'm left bored.

This beautiful quilt that I started back in February last year is one such project that needs to be completed. But I'm feeling motivated. I mean seriously the top is completely done, all I have to do is add the batting and the back fabric, bind it together and I'm done. The hard part was done a year ago.

Anyhow, I figure if I post about this beautiful quilt top, then I'm more likely to feel pressure to finish it.

Thank you and have a nice day.

It IS easy being green...

...especially when you have your own stylish "grocery bags" to take to the store! I whipped this one up in about 1/2 hour yesterday...super easy!! I lined it with a complimentary fabric so it was more sturdy. I tested it out at the grocery store yesterday and was able to fill quite a bit into it (it's slightly larger than a plastic bag but way prettier). I plan on making up to 10 of these so I can bring enough to put all my groceries in them!

I've Joined the Ranks...

Well, with much prodding, my husband finally got me to get a new phone...a new iPhone 3G nonetheless. I really didn't want/think I need so much phone but....HOLY COW!!! This phone is amazing. In fact, it's so amazing it's scary!

What made me shrug my shoulders and say "fine, I'll take the phone" (can you believe so much arm twisting from Jason to get this phone? I really didn't want a new phone and didn't find the need to jump on the iPhone bandwagon!!!!) is that I was wanting an MP3 player for Christmas and this phone basically is an iPod as well.

But I can also check my email, get on the internet and see the internet exactly as if I were on my home computer, I have a calculator (and low-and-behold, my favorite calculator just died so perfect timing), a calendar, phone (I guess that is the main point of an iPhone), oh and I'm so excited because I downloaded an App (application for those non-iPhone users) that is a grocery list. You can't imagine how exciting that is to me!

So anyhow, I promptly went home and whipped up a carrying case so I can through it in my purse. It matches this purse here.

Anyhoo, I have SO much to blog about: Lawyer's birthday was Tuesday and his small party is on Saturday, the caterpillars that are eating my mandarin orange tree to nothing and they look like snakes, a few recipes and some random things. Oh and I might throw in a few more thoughts on the upcoming election.

Did you check out the t-shirt
here, here, here and here? Buy one today...Kelly will be finished selling these in the next few weeks, just in time for you to wear your shirt proudly before the big election!!

Tie One On

Not that this post will be that exciting to very many of you but I finished a very cute vintage-style apron. I'm usually not an apron kind of a person but this was just too 1950's June Cleaver-like to pass up and I got some super-cute fabric to boot. Now if only I can get motivated to get to the store to buy groceries so I can make dinner while wearing my sweet apron!
