Lawyer & Blastball

For those of you that want to know how his first Blastball (pre-cursor to T-Ball) practice went, the picture says it all!

Tie One On

Not that this post will be that exciting to very many of you but I finished a very cute vintage-style apron. I'm usually not an apron kind of a person but this was just too 1950's June Cleaver-like to pass up and I got some super-cute fabric to boot. Now if only I can get motivated to get to the store to buy groceries so I can make dinner while wearing my sweet apron!

WANTED: Spring!

I wish I could say "Spring is in the air" but just about the time I get my hopes up that spring is going to wake up and rub her sleepy eyes, winter comes barging back making spring snuggle back up and go to sleep. Yesterday it was almost 85 degrees and tonight it's supposed to be in the 20's...this type of weather should be banned. North Texas is a fence-straddler - not knowing whether to be hot or cold at the appropriate time of year. Either that or it has an identity crisis.

I'll post pictures of our backyard soon so you can join in on the gardening extravaganza that's getting ready to happen. Right now it's a blank canvas but once beautiful spring arises from her wintry slumber - "katie-bar-the-door" - dirt will be dug, grass will be mowed and flowers will come out from hiding.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

Well, it's that time of the year. The beginning of freshly mowed grass, the smell of leather gloves and the feel of red stitching on baseballs. While this has never held any relevance in my previous life, I find myself giddy with excitement, well because I have a 3 year old boy who is excited about starting up baseball this week.

Now, I may not be a soccer mom, but I am officially a baseball mom. Baseball moms don't dive mini-vans. And they don't wear frumpy clothes and have short boyish hairstyles. Scratch that - I do like sweats and I have a short spunky haircut. Anyhow, I am pleased to announce I have been nominated to be team mom. Well, "nominated" isn't perhaps true. There wasn't a committee that was lining up to vote me in. I kindly sacrificed myself to the baseball world to "help out". Whatever that means. I suppose I'll be the lucky mom that will sit on the sidelines tying up loose shoe strings and wiping runny noses. I rather envision myself being the "hero" offering up juice boxes and orange slices to filthy, stinky 3 year olds who are happier about their snack time than the baseball game they just played.

Yeah for baseball, runny noses and orange slices!

New to Me...

I'm officially a blogger. Not certain where this will lead to other than I like to write - especially about randomness and what-not that goes on in my life. I'm not even certain about what things I would like to post about but I do know this: I like to create, I like to learn and I like to talk about what I've created and learned. Enjoy!
